if you’ve followed me for a while, you know my favorite book is Wuthering Heights and i have about a bazillion copies.  there were dozens of editions at Powell Books, but i decided to get just one i didn’t have.  after all, part of the fun of collecting them is hunting them down.

after much deliberation, i chose the classic Penguin (hard to find!) and when i got to the car, i flipped through and this postcard fell out.  Bonus!  

i sell used books on Amazon and buy and sell and read a lot.  i LOVE finding things in all of the used books i handle.  over the years, i have collected the tons of personal notes i’ve found in them (like this one and these), but make a point never to buy a book only because it has a note and never to take a note out of a book i’m not buying (why do we invent these rules for ourselves?), so when this fell out, it was extra special because i didn’t know it was there AND it’s a touching note from father to daughter AND it’s from DC.

sigh.  i love books.
